Stillaguamish Tribe names former leaders in theft suit
The Stillaguamish Tribe of Washington says two former leaders cheated the tribe out of millions of dollars.

A lawsuit in federal court says Edward L. Goodridge and his son Edward Goodridge Jr. conspired with real estate agents to sell properties to the tribe at inflated prices. The Goodridges received kickbacks from the sales, the tribe says in the lawsuit.

The suit cites several examples, including a vacant lot that was sold to the tribe for $2,568,000, or more than $1,350,000 over the market value. The tribe overpaid for all of the properties by at least $30 million, the tribe says.

The Goodridges were sentenced last year for selling untaxed cigarettes.
