California tribes ban free tobacco samples on reservations
Four tribes in northern California have barred tobacco companies from giving away free tobacco samples on their reservations.

The Yurok Tribe, the Resighini Rancheria, the Wiyot Tribe and the Blue Lake Rancheria each adopted the policy to prevent commercial companies from targeting their members.

The use of non-commercial tobacco for traditional and ceremonial purposes is not affected by the policy.
