Labor Department hails Tulalip Tribes for effort with unions
The Labor Department visited the Tulalip Tribes of Washington to learn more about the tribe's dealings with unions.

Assistant Labor Secretary Jane Oates praised the tribe for working with unions. “We hear nightmares about how some tribes are not able to negotiate with labor unions,” Oates said, The Everett Herald reported. “The Tulalip Tribes did an amazing job, and we are here to learn from them.”

The tribe negotiated agreements with unions during the construction of its casino and resort hotel complex.
