Jury deliberates case against Aquash murder defendant
A federal court jury is expected to begin deliberations today in the case of Richard Marshall, a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe who is accused of murdering American Indian Movement activist Anna Mae Pictou Aquash.

Federal prosecutors allege Marshall provided the gun that was used to kill Aquash on the Pine Ridge Reservation in December 1975. Three witnesses -- including a man already convicted of Aquash's murder and former AIM leader John Trudell -- provided conflicting testimony on this key point.

Marshall is charged with aiding and abetting Aquash's murder. The man who allegedly pulled the trigger, John Graham, faces a trial in state court for the crime.
