Candidate for president of Navajo Nation identifies priorities
Dale Tsosie, a candidate for president of the Navajo Nation, outlined three priorities for the largest tribe in the U.S.

Tsosie said he will focus on protecting the tribal land base, promoting education and welcoming economic development on the reservation. “I have entered this race, and the weight of that has come upon my family,” he said at speech at the LeChee Chapter in Arizona, The Lake Powell Chronicle reported.

Twelve people -- ten men and two women -- filed to run for president. The field includes incumbent President Joe Shirley Jr., who wants a third term in office even though tribal law imposes a two-term limit.
