Former BIA official headed back to Cherokee Nation
Pat Ragsdale, who who recently retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, is going back to work for the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.

Ragsdale served as head of law enforcement for the BIA until he retired last month. He will now lead the Government Resources group for Cherokee Chief Chad Smith.

"I am honored that Principal Chief Smith has asked me to return to work for the Cherokee Nation at the location where I started my career in Indian Affairs so many years ago,” Ragsdale told The Cherokee Phoenix. “I know the work force very well, and I look forward to working with them to administer programs for the government of the Nation and its citizens
