Stillaguamish Tribe acquires land to protect salmon habitat
The Stillaguamish Tribe of Washington has purchased 77 acres along the Stillaguamish River.

The tribe will rehabilitate the land as part of its effort to protect the salmon habitat. “For the tribe, this is about preserving our way of life," fisheries manager Shawn Yanity told The Everett Herald.

The tribe worked with the Cascade Land Conservancy to purchase the land with the help of a grant from the Washington Salmon Recovery Funding Board.
