University of Idaho repatriates artifacts to Nez Perce Tribe
The University of Idaho is set to repatriate artifacts to the Nez Perce Tribe.

The items include a sacred whistle, a wooden stick, a button, a shell and a rounded cork. They were found in a box that had been overlooked.

"[T]he greatest feeling in the world is meeting with the tribe, and handing the items back over to them, and knowing things are coming back to where they should be - kind of tipping the balance in the universe to where things should be," anthropologist Leah Evans-Janke told the Associated Press.

The items came from a site near the Battle of White Bird Canyon.
