Chippewa Cree Tribe frustrated by wait for disaster declaration
The Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana still hasn't heard whether President Barack Obama will declare a disaster on the Rocky Boy's Reservation.

About 40 percent of the homes on the reservation remain without water, three weeks after a storm led to major flooding. The entire reservation is under a boil water order because there's not enough water pressure to conduct a safety test.

“The water situation is not good at this point we have a lot of major breaks in a variety of areas. And a lot of us are without water, I’ve been without water all weekend,” council member Bruce Sun Child told KFBB-TV.

The reservation suffered at least $6 million in damage, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. But without a declaration, FEMA is limited to trucking water in.
