Rosebud Sioux man sentenced to 51 months for attack on ex-wife
A man from the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South Dakota was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison for an attack on his ex-wife that has left her with permanent injuries.

Richard Provancial, 47, pleaded guilty to a charge of maiming and assault with a dangerous weapon. He admitted he threw scalding water on his ex-wife, struck her with his fist, kicked her and rubbed dog feces in her face in an incident that the couple's three children witnessed.

The victim received permanent bodily injury to her earlobe and face, the U.S. Attorney's Office in South Dakota said in a press release. She continues to suffer from a hearing impairment and the burns from the scalding will leave permanent scars.
