The Senate is expected to vote this evening on a bill to settle the Indian trust fund settlement and to settle a lawsuit with African-American farmers.

The National Black Farmers Association is pushing for the $3.4 billion Cobell settlement and the $1.2 billion Pigford settlement. “We are hopeful that each and every Senator will approve this bipartisan amendment," John Boyd, the group's president, said in a press release.

The bill is expected to come up under a unanimous consent procedure.
