The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in North Carolina is home to the first Alzheimer's Association office in Indian Country.
The tribe held ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday and a walk for the office today.
The events coincided with World Alzheimer’s Day.
“I applaud the partnership we’ve formed,” Principal Chief Michell Hicks said at the ceremony, The Cherokee One Feather reported. “Our hope is that it will be an everlasting partnership.”
