Morongo Band proposes agreement with city for imported water
The Morongo Band of Mission Indians wants to store water with the city of Beaumont, California.

The tribe plans to import water from northern California and store up to 50,000 acre-feet of water in the Beaumont Groundwater Basin. The tribe doesn't need the water but wants to offer it to the region, a spokesperson said.

The city council will vote on the agreement today.
