Tribes in Wisconsin honor late attorney with a traditional funeral
Tribes in Wisconsin held a four-day funeral ceremony for attorney Gene Linehan, a defender of Indian rights who died on September 10.

Linehan, 66, represented the Bad River Band Of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians in a number of cases. He also defended the Menominee Warrior Society.

"When someone is part of a society, the native indigenous society, and works with us as much as Gene did, he is considered a brother," Kenneth "Bum Bum" Fish, a member of the Menominee Nation, told The Wasau Daily Herald. "Gene had the spirit of an indigenous person."
