Man sends donation of 20000 books to Pine Ridge Reservation
Schools on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota are receiving 20,000 books thanks to the efforts of one man.

Dave Rhody, who lived on the reservation as a child, organized a book drive for elementary, middle school, high school and college textbooks. He wanted to observe the 20th anniversary of South Dakota’s Native American Day.

He thought he would do something for the people of Pine Ridge,” Darla Drew Lerda of the South Dakota Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs, or SD GEARUP, told The Rapid City Journal.
