Mohegan and Pequot tribes hold elections for council positions
Connecticut's two federally recognized tribes are holding elections to fill seats on their councils.

The Mohegan Tribe needs to fill one position on the council due to the resignation of Lynn Malerba, who now serves as lifetime chief. According to The New London Day, the two candidates are Jonathan Hamilton and Mike Bozsum but Bozsum told the paper he dropped out due to health reasons.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation is holding an election on November 7 for two seats. Incumbents Marjorie Colebut-Jackson and Maureen Sebastian are seeking re-election.
