Members of the Southern Ute Tribe of Colorado have submitted a recall petition against Chairman Matthew Box.

Rick Jefferson said the group collected more than enough signatures to qualify for a recall. The tribe's election office is in the process of certifying the petition.

Jefferson and other tribal members are concerned about the Southern Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund. They say Box hasn't paid more attention to the fund, which they contend is losing money.
