Michigan attorney pushes trial in Saginaw Chippewa land case
Michigan attorney general Mike Cox (R) doesn't want to settle a land case with the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe.

Cox is objecting to an agreement reached by the tribe and other parties in the case. He says the deal includes land that shouldn't be part of the Isabella Reservation.

Cox wants Judge Thomas L. Ludington to reject the agreement and proceed to trial, a spokesperson said. Public comments are being accepted until Friday on the deal, which address law enforcement, land-into-trust, taxation and other issues.
