Oneida Nation leader heads to Los Angeles to promote filming

Oneida Nation leader Ray Halbritter is headed to Los Angeles to attend the Academy Awards and to promote central New York as a filming location.

Halbritter said filming could provide a boost to the local economy. "Beyond the much needed economic activity movie production would bring to this region, many people living in this area who are trained to work in film production are forced to move elsewhere to find employment opportunities - we hope to change that through this effort.", he said in a press release.

The tribe owns Four Directions Productions, an animation and cinematography studio.
