Coushatta Tribe sends youth to Missouri to help relief efforts

Young members of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana are in Joplin, Missouri, this week to help with tornado relief efforts.

Twenty high school and college students made the trek to Missouri on Sunday. They will be handling various tasks as the area recovers from a tornado that killed more than 130 people and destroyed or damaged 8,000 homes, businesses and schools, The Lake Charles American Press reported.

“I think it will be a good experience because we will get to help somebody less fortunate than us,” Tyler Langley, 18, told the paper.
