City in Oregon reimburses two tribes for tax overpayments

The city of Keizer, Oregon, reimbursed about $19,000 to two tribes that mistakenly paid taxes on land they own.
The Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians paid the tax bill that was sent to them. But it wasn't until more than a year later that they noticed they should have been exempt because a city-owned water tower is on their property.
The city corrected the mistake.
