Pueblo woman accused of killing son might raise insanity defense

A woman from Zia Pueblo in New Mexico who is accused of murdering her son might raise an insanity defense, according to news reports.

Tiffany Toribio allegedly suffocated her 3-year-old son and buried him in a park in Albuquerque in May 2009. She has been charged with first-degree murder, child abuse intentionally resulting in the death, evidence-tampering, failure to report a death and concealing identity.

Toribio's public defender has given notice to the court of a potential insanity defense.
