Yakama Nation to celebrate signing of June 9, 1855 treaty

The Yakama Nation of Washington will commemorate the signing of the 1855 treaty on Friday.

The tribe's ancestors signed the treaty on June 9, 1855. The tribe ceded more than 11 million acres for the present day 1.2 million-acre reservation.

The tribe will host a parade and a salmon feed on Friday.
