Chairman of Crow Tribe refutes allegations of mismanagement

Leaders of the Crow Tribe of Montana are in a dispute over management of tribal funds.

The Crow Legislature passed a resolution 14-0 that calls on the U.S. Attorney in Montana to investigate the executive branch's use of the tribe's money. But Chairman Cedric Black Eagle said the tribe's financial audits are clean.

"There is simply no basis for the Legislature’s claim that they don’t know the sources of all tribal revenue,” Black Eagle told The Billings Gazette in a statement.

The Legislature says over $3 million in 2008 and over $4 million in the 2009 has gone unaccounted by the executive branch.
