Bearspaw Band goes to the polls to elect a new chief and council

Members of the Bearspaw Band of the Stoney Nakoda First Nation in Alberta will elect a new chief and council today.

Former chief David Bearspaw was holding onto power until a judge told him to step down. He's running in the election, along with two challengers.

Four council seats are also up for grabs.
