Gallup Indian Medical Center in New Mexico sees busy night

The Gallup Indian Medical Center, an Indian Health Service facility in New Mexico, had a busy night.

Two men checked into the facility with gunshot wounds. One was treated there and later died from his injuries. The second man was airlifted to Albuquerque, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Around the same time, another man came into the facility and said he had been shot in the parking lot. The victim, Byrum Begay, 24, suffered non life-threatening injuries. Authorities don't know if the incidents are connected.

Police in Gallup reported another shooting later in the evening. And the Navajo Nation police said there was an attempted robbery at the parking lot of its casino near Gallup.
