Navajo Nation signs deed to place property in Arizona in trust

The Navajo Nation signed documents to have a 373-acre property in Arizona placed in trust.

The tribe bought the Turquoise Ranch for $1.5 million last year. The land will be used to house tribal members who are being relocated from land that was part of a dispute with the Hopi Tribe.

"With today’s signing of these documents, we are not just signing land deeds into trust, we are establishing a firm pathway for Navajo families to start a new life after being relocated," President Ben Shelly said in a press release.
