Indian and Alaska Native Affairs Subcommittee sets hearing

The House Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs will hold a hearing next week on six bills.

The hearing takes place at 2pm on Tuesday, July 23, in Room 1334 of the House Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs The agenda follows:
H.R. 1103, To amend the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act to provide that Alexander Creek, Alaska, is and shall be recognized as an eligible Native village under that Act, and for other purposes.
H.R. 1225, To direct the Secretary of the Interior to place certain lands in Skagit and San Juan Counties, Washington, into trust for the Samish Indian Nation, and for other purposes. “Samish Indian Nation Homelands Act of 2013.”
H.R. 2319, To clarify certain provisions of the Native American Veterans' Memorial Establishment Act of 1994. “Native American Veterans' Memorial Amendments Act of 2013.”
H.R. 2388, To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to take certain Federal lands located in El Dorado County, California, into trust for the benefit of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, and for other purposes.
H.R. 2455, To provide for the sale or transfer of certain Federal lands in Nevada, and for other purposes. “Nevada Native Nations Lands Act.”
H.R. 2650, To allow the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa in the State of Minnesota to lease or transfer certain land. “Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Non-Intercourse Act of 2013.”
