Ousted president of Northern Cheyenne Tribe files BIA appeal

John Robinson, the ousted president of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe of Montana, has filed an appeal with the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Robinson contends his removal by the tribal council was invalid. But the tribe has already scheduled a special election to fill his seat.

Robinson hasn't said whether he will run in the special election. The BIA has until Thursday to take action, KTVQ reported.
