Sen. McCain won't ask football team owner to drop racist name

Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona), a member of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, won't ask the owner of the Washington professional football team to change its racist mascot.

McCain said he understood why Native people find the name to be offensive. But it looksl ike he won't be signing onto of H.R.1278, the Non-Disparagement of Native American Persons or Peoples in Trademark Registration Act, any time soon.

McCain said he might seek re-election in 2016.
