Seminole Tribe expands economy with stake in citrus company

The Seminole Tribe of Florida acquired a 60 percent interest in a citrus company.

The investment in Blue Lake Citrus Products is part of the tribe's effort to diversify its economy. The tribe already owns a majority stake in Noble Food Service, the sales and marketing arm of Blue Lake.

“The tribe is growing and diversifying its business interests by partnering with local Florida, family companies to strengthen the people and agriculture of Florida,” Tony Sanchez, President of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Inc., said in a press release.

Under the Seminole Pride brand, the tribe markets juices, fruit snacks, water and beef.
