North Dakota tribe ranks high among energy producers in US

The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation of North Dakota is hosting an energy summit.

Chairman Tex Hall said more than 1,000 oil wells on the reservation produce more than 180,000 barrels a day. That ranks the Fort Berthold Reservation among the top 10 producing states.

"It's a modern day gold rush," Hall said in a video that was played during the summit, the Associated Press reported.

The reservation sits in the Bakken formation, a significant reserve of oil and resources.
