Kate Dawson of Cherokee Nation crowned Miss Teen Oklahoma

Kate Dawson, a member of the Cherokee Nation, was crowned Miss Oklahoma Teen United States last month.

Dawson is the founder of Infinity Foundation of Hope. She started the organization to combat bullying in schools.

Dawson will compete for the national crown at the Miss Teen United States competition during the July 4 weekend in suburban Washington, D.C.
