Sen. Barrasso to chair field hearing on drugs in Indian Country

Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyoming) will chair a field hearing on drugs in Indian Country next week.

The March 31 Senate Indian Affairs Committee hearing takes place on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming. Leaders of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe and the Northern Arapaho Tribe are slated to testify, the Associated Press reported.

Federal and state authorities also will appear, according to the AP. One state official said methamphetamine is being trafficked on the reservation.

The hearing will take place at the Wyoming Indian High School in Ethete. It will not be webcast.
