The state of Washington is repatriating a set of remains to the Suquamish Tribe that were uncovered three years ago.

Workers found the remains at a home on Bainbridge Island in 2012. But the homeowners didn't report the discovery to authorities because they didn't want to deal with the situation, the chief of police told MyNorthwest.com.

One of the workers, however, alerted authorities and a search warrant was executed to exhume the remains. They will be returned to the tribe within a week, MyNorthwest.com reported.
