A man and woman are accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Citizen Potawatomi Nation in Oklahoma.

Thomas Bierd, 35, was indicted on six counts of embezzlement and theft from an Indian Tribal Organization. Federal prosecutors say he stole nearly $182,000 from the Community Development Corporation, a tribal entity.

Bierd allegedly worked with Kristi Bias, 41, to steal the money. Bias, who was the executive director of the corporation, already pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement from the tribe and awaits sentencing.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Bias would issue checks from the CDC to Bierd. In return, she allegedly received a kickback.
