Men from Winnebago Tribe sentenced in separate federal cases

Two members of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska were sentenced last week in separate federal criminal cases.

Kyle Bigbear, 24, was sentenced to 10 years for being a felon in passion of a firearm. He pleaded guilty and admitted he pointed a gun at someone on the reservation in September 2014, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a press release.

Thomas White, Jr., 31, was sentenced to 33 months for assaulting a Bureau of Indian Affairs police officer. He admitted he hit the officer repeatedly after being told to leave the school grounds in Winnebago, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a press release.
