Calista Corporation, the second-largest Alaska Native regional corporation, has a new leader of the board.

Margaret Pohjola was chosen by her fellow directors to serve as chair. She is the first woman in that position, which comes with a one-year term.

"It is humbling to follow in the footsteps of early directors like Nora Guinn and Gladys Jung," Pohjola said in a press release. "Calista is currently riding a wave of operational and shareholder successes. I look forward to partnerships with the directors, management and shareholders over the next year."

Calista reported revenues of $402 million in 2014, the second-highest in corporate history.
