Tribes and their economies are prominently featured in the 2015 Oregon Coast Economic Summit.

The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde are hosting the event. Jon George, a council member, is providing the invocation and welcome this morning, The Umpqua Post reported.

The first panel is dedicated solely to tribal governments, the paper said. Another panel will focus on creating education opportunities for Native youth.

The summit runs today and tomorrow at the Spirit Mountain Casino and Resort.
