The Bureau of Indian Affairs is once again declaring more reservation land for the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community in Minnesota.

Another 240.71 acres is in trust, according to five notices published in the Federal Register on Monday. They follow three other declarations that were made less than two weeks ago.

"The land was proclaimed to be Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Reservation for the exclusive use of Indians on that reservation who are entitled to reside at the reservation by enrollment or Tribal membership," acting assistant secretary Larry Roberts wrote in one of the notices.

In 2015, the reservation grew by 104 acres and in 2014 it grew by 569 acres. All of the lands are located in Scott County.

The tribe owns about 4,000 acres in the county but only about half of its lands are in trust, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported in December.
