Obama and Lynch knew conflict was coming
They could have stopped water cannons and rubber bullets before it happened

For years involved parties knew the pipeline conflict up at Standing Rock was coming. For years. They knew.

Over all those years, Obama was president, commander-in-chief of the armed forces, including the Army Corps of Engineers. He knew.

Obama selected Loretta Lynch as Attorney General. She heads up the Department of Justice. She knew.

When the water protectors first clashed with the security personnel and their attack dogs long months back, Obama and his administration knew an important thing that mattered, that could have alleviated the conflict, stopped tear gas, rubber bullets, and water cannons.

There is a service, created back during the 1960’s Civil Rights era, within the Department of Justice, designed to address exactly the type of situation present on the ground north of Standing Rock. This is from their website; this is how they view their role in tribal disputes: “The United States Department of Justice Community Relations Service (CRS) works with tribal communities nationwide to resolve jurisdictional tension and conflicts between tribes, border communities, and federal, state and local governments, as well as law enforcement agencies.
