The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians is hosting Olympian Billy Mills for a run and walk on May 13.

Mills, a citizen of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, will be on hand to motivate participants in the event in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. He'll be presenting awards to the top runners and walkers of all ages.

Mills is the only American to ever win the Gold medal in the 10,000-meter race. He surprised the world with his top finish at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

As a co-founder and spokesperson for Running Strong for American Indian Youth, Mills visits dozens of tribal communities every year.
