Tim Giago: An indictment or impeachment for Donald Trump? Either is fine with me.

Notes from Indian Country
‘And where it stops, nobody knows’
By Tim Giago (Nanwica Kciji – Stands Up For Them)

The view from the He’ Sapa (Black Hills) would indicate that Donald J. Trump, the fictitious leader of the USA, is about to be indicted or impeached. Either way is fine with me.

So then the next question arises about the way he can be replaced. If he is charged with and convicted of colluding with a foreign government to win what would now be an illegal election, that would probably also negate the position of Vice President Mike Pence, his partner in crime, who would be ineligible to step into Trump’s shoes.

There are several other criminal charges against Trump hanging that should also be considered. His not so subtle attempts at intimidating witnesses is also a crime, and using campaign funds to pay off a porn star and a Playboy model are also crimes. Not only could Trump end up being drummed out of the White House, but he could also be sentenced to prison. Just picture Trump in an orange jump suit: It would match the color of his face and hair. These are all strong possibilities.

So what are the options?

Hillary Clinton won the popular vote against Trump by nearly 3 million votes. Would she then be considered a victim of a fraudulent election? Does that mean she could then replace Trump in the oval office?

What started out as a big game for Trump, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Jared Kushner, has turned into a very serious nightmare that could place all of them behind bars. So far six people in the Trump campaign’s inner circle have been either charged of convicted of serious crimes. Have any of us ever seen such a debacle in the White House? Not in my lifetime.

Trump’s final days in the White House were about to become a nightmare. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Trump has nicknamed her “Nancy”), slapped his ears back a couple of times. She beat on him like a Salvation Army drum on the infamous wall and on his State of the Union Speech. He came to the game and played it on her terms and her terms alone.

Trump beat the ground with his feet and cried like a baby, but he fell in line like a rented mule.

All of the above happenings are, as far as I can recall, unprecedented. Nothing like this has ever happened in the history of this country. As usual, Trump is breaking new ground and he is using his face as a shovel. The blustering bully has been cowed.

The United States has never had to hold a new election to replace an ousted president. So all of the things about to happen are also unprecedented.

There will be a lot of talks taking place in Washington as Congress and the Senate try to find ways to get themselves out of the hole they dug for themselves.

And South Dakota’s stalwart delegation of Mike Rounds, John Thune, and we have to include our current Governor, Kristi Noem, in this lineup, Republicans all, had better recant for being complicit in their leader’s deceit and apologize to the citizens who elected them to office. If anyone of them had any political courage they would have jumped off of Trump’s bandwagon before it started rolling.

And to be even more explicit, maybe every Republican who participated and covered up for the criminal actions of Donald Trump should resign in shame.

And on another note, our majority Republican delegation in Pierre is back in session and they continue to beat on the same dead horse they beat on every year: Abortion. The people voiced their opinion on this issue a few years ago, but South Dakota Republicans believe that the people are too stupid to understand why they voted the way they did. And therefore if they don’t like the referendums voted on by the people they simply go into session and erase their votes.

What is even more alarming, Gov. Noem, a woman, supports the mostly white male Republicans in their efforts to take away a woman’ right to decide what she can or cannot do with her own body. If a man could get pregnant abortion would be a sacrament.

There are more Native Americans now serving in the South Dakota State Legislature than ever and maybe they can help to bring back some common sense to this body and educate them to the fact the that a separation of Church and State still exists.

When it comes to law making leave your religion in your Church because your laws also impact people who are not Christian.

The next few weeks will be like something we have never seen and like the barker’s used to shout to their customers at the carnival, “Round and round it goes, and where it stops, nobody knows!” And the view from the He’ Sapa gets foggier by the minute.
