Social relationships are among the strongest tools available for substance abuse recovery.
Yet the National Institute on Drug Abuse acknowledges Zoom meetings and phone calls can’t fully measure up to the effectiveness of in-person contact for people fighting addiction.
And the National Institutes of Health also warns the stress and isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic can exacerbate the triggers for those vulnerable to addiction.
