National Congress of American Indians President Fawn Sharp delivers the 19th annual State of Indian Nations on February 22, 2021. NCAI First Vice President Aaron Payment, Chairperson of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, provides opening remarks, followed by an invocation from NCAI Area Vice President Tina Abrams, a council member from the Seneca Nation. Following the State of Indian Nations, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), the vice chair of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, provided a response from a Congressional point of view. A question and answer session with audience members concludes the event.
