The enduring Laguna Pueblo Colony
When the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad extended a line across pueblo land in the Southwest, they promised jobs for pueblo workers.
That promise led to the rise of pueblo colonies in urban areas.
One of those is a thriving group of Laguna Pueblo citizens in Albuquerque who maintain their tribal connections at a distance.
