Navajo Nation receives $2.8M
FRIDAY, MAY 31, 2002 The Navajo Nation has received $2.8 million in grants to bring electricity to Navajo families. Of the money, $2 million will go to extending conventional power lines to homes. The cost to do so is staggeringly high at $22,000 a mile. The rest will be used to install solar power devices at remote homes on the three-state reservation. Get the Story:
