Historic find unearthed in Fla.

Archaeologists in southern Florida have uncovered a sophisticated water system dating back 1,700 years.

The study has found a seven-mile canal system, believed to be the largest in North America. The system connects to a ceremonial pond in the shape of a baton, archaeologists reported.

The archaeologists say the tribe which built the system is extinct and has no ties to current Florida tribes.
