TUESDAY, JUNE 25, 2002 The Norwich Bulletin in an editorial today praises the Bureau of Indian Affairs for developing a computer system to aid federal recognition decisions. "Welcome to the information age, BIA," the paper writes. "Wait until you learn about the Internet!" The BIA is using Microsoft Access, a commercial database, to store information about the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation. The tribe is seeking recognition and is under a court-imposed timetable.
