Ariz. blood drive held for tribal member

MONDAY, JULY 15, 2002

The Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross held a blood drive on Sunday for a member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.

Blanca Frias has lymphoblastic leukemia and is a candidate for a bone marrow transplant. Her best chances for success are from an American Indian or Alaska Native donor. She also has Hispanic heritage.
